White Robes of Righteousness

Robe

Let your priests be clothed with righteousness. Let your saints shout for joy!”   Psalms 132:9

I will greatly rejoice in Yahweh! My soul will be joyful in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation. He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.  Isaiah 61:10

And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.  Revelation 19:8  The armies which are in heaven followed him on white horses, clothed in white, pure, fine linen.  Revelation 19:14

Because I delivered the poor who cried, and the fatherless also, who had no one to help him,  the blessing of him who was ready to perish came on me, and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.  I put on righteousness, and it clothed me. My justice was as a robe and a diadem.  I was eyes to the blind, and feet to the lame.   I was a father to the needy. The cause of him who I didn’t know, I searched out.  I broke the jaws of the unrighteous, and plucked the prey out of his teeth.  Job 29:12-17

Nevertheless you have a few names in Sardis that didn’t defile their garments. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.  He who overcomes will be arrayed in white garments, and I will in no way blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.   Revelation 3:4-6

Around the throne were twenty-four thrones. On the thrones were twenty-four elders sitting, dressed in white garments, with crowns of gold on their heads. Revelation 4:4

24Elders

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been killed for the Word of God, and for the testimony of the Lamb which they had.   They cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, Master, the holy and true, until you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”  A long white robe was given to each of them. They were told that they should rest yet for a while, until their fellow servants and their brothers, who would also be killed even as they were, should complete their course.  Revelation 6:9-11

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could count, out of every nation and of all tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.   They cried with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation be to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”   All the angels were standing around the throne, the elders, and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before his throne, and worshiped God,  saying, “Amen! Blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might, be to our God forever and ever! Amen.” One of the elders answered, saying to me, “These who are arrayed in the white robes, who are they, and from where did they come?”  I told him, “My lord, you know.” He said to me, “These are those who came out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes, and made them white in the Lamb’s blood.  Revelation 7:9-14
